Senior Statistician
Main purpose of the job:
Provide statistical input and expertise to study and project team. Provide input to international clinical development plans, in co-operation with the International Clinical Team. As a member of the International Clinical Team, bring statistical expertise to the design, analysis and reporting of clinical trials phases I to IV.
Main duties/responsibilities:
* Provide input to international clinical development plans, in co-operation with the International Clinical Team
* As a member of the International Clinical Team, bring statistical expertise to the design, analysis and reporting of clinical trials phases I to IV
* Serve as core study and project team member
* Provide input in protocol development
* Prepare statistical analysis plan
* Report clinical studies
* Advance in-house reporting software
* Provide statistical consultancy and training to clinical development staff
* Write and develop statistical SOPs
* Work closely with US colleagues to develop common standards for analysis and reporting of clinical studies
* Manage outsourcing activities
Other distinguishing features:
The Senior Statistician will be an independent member of the study and project teams working in Oncology, CNS and Anti-infectives; and will work on drugs from Phase I - IV run in all regions, i.e. Europe, US and Japan.
The Senior Statistician will become the primary contact for the Oncology therapeutic area, and will be involved in high-level decision making on the study as well as at project level.
Person Specification
Minimum education requirement is an MSc in Statistics
Experience required:
* At least 4 years relevant experience within Pharmaceutical industry or CRO
* Oncology experience is an advantage
* Must have good technical skills
* Good documentation skills
* Up-to-date knowledge in statistical concepts, methods, and techniques
* International development team experience
* Extensive experience in SAS / Statistical programming
Skills and aptitude required:
* Team player but ability to work under their own initiative
* Independent / creative thinker
* Critical assessor / good eye for detail
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Works efficiently inter-departmentally
* A flexible, positive outlook
* Excellent negotiation skills
