SUMMARY OF ROLE: Leading international software company requires a
manager of consulting and pre sales for a statistical software company
to be based at the company's European headquarters in Hampshire. The role
holder will manage Consulting, and Pre-sales for the European arm of the
company and will be responsible for the retention, recruitment and
organisation of staff. He/she will manage revenue and utilisation to
defined targets and will be a conduit and advocate for the EU field
operations to development and product management in corporate. Candidate

CLIENT INFORMATION: Our client, headquartered in the USA with offices in
Europe and distributors around the world, is a global leader in providing
scalable data and text analysis solutions that enable better and faster
decision making by integrating statistics into business processes. They
offer a contract research service to clients who require their expertise
for innovative analytical projects. Their solutions are used by the
majority of leading companies in industry including pharmaceuticals and
biotechnology who use the technology to streamline their operations and
manage their business risk. Use of the solutions makes it easier to
integrate advanced statistical methods within existing processes thus
enabling the user to reap the benefit of the rapid delivery of advanced
analytics to decision making across the enterprise.
JOB ROLE: The role holder will report to VP Services and VP Europe. The
key responsibilities of this role include:
• Managing pre-sales consulting activities with the appropriate
personnel in the EU to support sales.
• Maintaining consulting and training schedules.
• Assisting the VP of Services in the creation and evolution of
deployment methodologies and insure the adoption and compliance of the
methodology by the field organisation.
• Supporting and evaluating staff with performance reviews and
individual career growth plans.
• Handling client issues as they arise.
• Keeping appraised of product development and direction. Creating
the appropriate feedback loops to product management, marketing and
engineering. Managing the appropriate training back to the field.
• Allocating appropriate resources between pre-sales and consulting.
• Managing financial aspects of the operation. Tracking and
maintaining budget, actuals and forecast.
• Working with senior management to create an optimised team for
continued growth.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• University degree required
• Operational management experience in the software or consulting
industry. Specifically with organisations that support analysis,
structured methodologies and high touch consulting models.
• Exposure to the sales process and understanding of a value sell
versus a commodity sell scenario.
• Understanding of statistical modelling or the application of
statistics in finance or life sciences a plus.
• Experience of working with one of the major enterprise software
vendors or similar experience in global consulting firms is ideal.
• Resident in the EU and must be able to communicate in English.
