Research Statistician
Mission Statement
The principal purpose of the Research Statistician is to provide statistical and SAS programming expertise for all aspects of the analysis and reporting processes.
1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include those listed below, although other duties may be assigned.
Authorship and review of Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs) and protocol text
* Reviewing client SAPs and protocol text, making suggestions for improvement and highlighting deficiencies as necessary
* Writing good quality SAPs and protocol text
* Specification of tables, figures and listings (TFLs)
* Maintaining good communication links with the reports team, scientific team and clients
Provision of appropriate, accurate and timely statistical analyses of study data, using SAS, to enable valid conclusions to be drawn
* Writing good quality SAS code for all aspects of work, conducting QC checks of SAS code and output and of reported analysis interpretation
* Provision of SAS expertise internally and externally, including advising on novel analysis requests
* Investigation of new applications of SAS to existing procedures
Production of clear and highly accurate TFLs
* Creating and format TFLs
* Producing specific formatting as required by clients
* Maintaining good communication links with the reports team and QA Department

* Highlight any deficits in necessary skills and seek training and development to address any deficits
* Attend job skills training such as time management to develop efficient working practices
* Attend suitable courses and seminars in order to further develop relevant skills, which can be applied to the role and within the company
* Identify and attend internal meetings where skills and background may make him/her a useful member of the group
* Apply for higher degrees (if applicable)

* Analytic: Able to assess large quantities of diverse information and draw logical conclusions

* Subject Knowledge: Understands technical jargon related to field. Obtains all pertinent information regarding experts in a particular subject matter
* Managing Others: Able to motivate develop and manage the work of staff members
* Project Management: Able to manage and drive projects to completion within set timescales and budget
