Intervention anaysis developed by G.E.P. Gox and colaborators deal with changes in behaviours in time series models and segmented regression does the same for changes in the independent variables for some values of the independent variables ( which in some cases can be time)

I am going to do some interrupted time series analysis and find
two 'terms' for similiar techniques: Intervention Analysis vs. Segmented
Regression Analysis. Are they just different names for the same thing or
they are totally different two techniques? Where could I find the
definition and discussion about them?
