Job Title:                         Education Consultant


DEPARTMENT:                Education (X2)


LOCATION:                      Marlow

 


Main Purpose:


To conduct SAS courses and workshops at SAS Training Centres and at customer sites with the aim of maximising the customers' use and knowledge of SAS Software. 


 


Key Responsibilities:


Teach SAS  courses, either solo or with other trainers, to the required high quality as published in the Education Business Plan. These courses may be standard courses/workshops from the Public Course Schedule, or tailored courses/workshops to suit particular customers' requirements.

To be involved in defining or reviewing of new or updated course content and the development of certain training materials, as required.

Provide input to Curriculum Managers regarding course content, timings, customer comments etc.

Support the Education Business Development Managers in providing training needs analyses for customers through telephone calls and customer visits.

Customise standard course material to meet specific customer needs for tailored courses. 

Actively obtain background information from customers and course delegates in order to offer them appropriate further courses and/or other useful products from SAS.

Work with the Education Management Team to ensure that all relevant content in the Company Management System is kept up to date to the current ISO standard.

 

 

 

May be asked to become involved in Special Roles and Projects as required, including :

Curriculum Management (for more detail, see separate Curriculum Management duties document)

Training rooms and equipment

§         Responsible for room and equipment related issues, including software installation, network connections, liaison with Internal Support Department etc.

New business areas

§         Investigation of new business areas, for example Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Strategic Performance Management (SPM), etc.

§         Represent Education at appropriate workgroup meetings, providing feedback to the rest of the Education Department.

§         Provide Education support to the relevant Initiative Manager. 

Supporting other SAS Departments

§         Provide assistance as required to other SAS  technical departments

§         Provide teaching support and guidance as required to staff from non-teaching departments.

§         Conduct occasional demonstrations and presentations to current and prospective customers to help sell or increase usage of SAS  products.

§         Occasionally attend trade shows, exhibitions, user groups, seminars, product launches, and company sales & marketing events to provide technical advice and expertise to attendees and staff.

Departmental project management

§         Manage and review progress of departmental projects with the appropriate member of the Education Management Team.

SAS Accredited Training

§         Provide mentoring skills, product knowledge and/or course knowledge if/when required.

Support other team members and managers in specific projects and roles as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/WORK EXPERIENCE

Experience of software language or applications

SAS - programming or business applications such as Enterprise Guide

Software teaching experience

Experience of successfully delivering SAS software courses 

Training Needs Analysis

Course design, development and evaluation 

One-to-one coaching

 

Training skills development

Accreditation by an independent body such as the Institute of IT Training
