Studentships for an MSc in Statistics (by Research)
---------------------------------------------------
This one-year programme offers an MSc degree by research. Students
will receive training in computational methods and communication of
statistics and will also have the option of attending selected modules
from the Department's honours Statistics programme. However, the
degree is awarded on the basis of a thesis describing a research
project.
Several funded studentships are available, thanks to the generous
sponsorship of the following organisations.
Novartis
Trinity Chiesi
The Information Services Division of the NHS in Scotland
A further funded place is available through the allocation to the
University of Glasgow under the EPSRC CTA scheme. Discussions are
also underway with a further potential sponsor. Applications received
by March 24th will also be eligible for a national studentship
competition sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline.

The financial sector
Environmental studies
Bioinformatics and genetics
* Development of statistical theory in
Statistical modelling
Experimental design
Image analysis
Nonparametric modelling
