STATISTICA SINICA call for submissions on
ALGEBRAIC STATISTICS & COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY
Following the successful workshop on Algebraic Statistics and
Computational Biology held at the Clay Mathematics Institute in
Nov. 2005 (at Cambridge, MA), we are inviting submissions on
the same theme for a special issue of Statistica Sinica.
Submissions are NOT limited to papers presented at the workshop.
The goal of publishing this theme topic is to highlight the exciting
new area of Algebraic Statistics and to expose a statistically-
minded audience to those arising techniques in this area.
Submissions preferably will provide either methodological or
theoretical advances in Algebraic Statistics, or demonstrate
applications of techniques using Algebraic Statistics in
Computational Biology. Priority will be given to papers that are
assessed to be, statistically and scientifically speaking, most
innovative, comprehensive, and reaching a wider readership.
Papers submitted to the special issue will be reviewed according
to regular procedures similar to other submissions to the journal.
Accepted papers will appear in a single issue of Statistica Sinica,
scheduled for 2007. Please contact Seth Sullivant or other special
issue editors for questions on the suitability of your paper(s).
Submissions must be made online through the journal site at
http://www3.stat.sinica.edu.tw/statistica/ .
Please use the LaTeX article template, also available at the above
site, for preparing your manuscript submission. The scheduled
DEADLINE for submission is March 31, 2006. Authors wishing to
receive email alerts as the deadline approaches may contact the
editorial assistant, Karen Li (karen at stat.sinica.edu.tw).
Special Issue Editors:
Chun-Houh Chen (cchen at stat.sinica.edu.tw )
Mathias Drton (drton at galton.uchicago.edu),
Vanja Dukic (dukic at uchicago.edu),
Jun Liu (jliu at stat.harvard.edu), and
Seth Sullivant (seths at math.harvard.edu).
