About the position
The new faculty member should have strong research and teaching
qualifications in both probability and statistics, with emphasis on
general methods for construction and analysis of stochastic models.
Special research competence is required in areas which are important for
the research initiative on Stochastic models and marine safety, such as
spatial/temporal stochastic models, statistical extremes and risk
analysis, computational statistical methods. Documented interest for
research also in other statistical application areas in engineering,
science, and medicine is an asset. Teaching experience is required both
on the basic level as on the advanced level in topics central for the
different engineering and science programs.

Assessment criteria
The qualifications required for appointment of the position of lecturer
are scientific competence and teaching skills. A successful candidate,
who is qualified for appointment as professor, shall be appointed as
such. A candidate who wants to be considered for such appointment shall
