TITLE: Health Technology Assessment Manager - Health Economics / Oncology
BACKGROUND: Working for a major / top ten pharmaceutical company, with a
really exciting pipeline of innovative / exciting Oncology Products, you
will deliver health economic appraisals, projects and materials that
influence national and local decision makers to create a positive funding
environment for our oncology portfolio
SKILLS: Essential; professional qualification, preferably in economics,
pharmacy or life sciences. A university degree in Health Economics and/or
1-2 years of experience with health economic evaluation experience would be
an advantage. Experience in the UK health care environment, either with a
minimum of 3 years pharmaceutical industry experience, or a well-qualified
NHS professional with an understanding of funding issues; awareness of NHS
market procedures and commissioning processes; business development; sales &
marketing. Oncology experience not necessary but would be an advantage.
DUTIES: Working with NICE/SMC/AWMSG and regional health technology
assessment bodies you will project manage and contribute to the company’s
submissions and be responsible for the delivery of documentation to Health
Technology Assessment (HTA) bodies.
◦ Primary point of contact for the above bodies within Oncology
◦ Management of Health Economic agencies, including budget setting and
management of expenditure with such agencies.
◦ Proactively inform the relevant personnel in Germany and UK about Health
Economic arguments and endpoints required for our products to secure
positive HTA assessments.
◦ Collaborate closely with relevant international colleagues - in
particular with the global Pricing and Reimbursement Department in Germany
to align UK messages and content of economic documents.
◦ Support sales team activities strategically to secure funding at PCT and
Cancer Network level and drive the production of tools for tactical
implementation of activities where appropriate.
◦ Regular internal update meetings to inform the Oncology Business Unit of
new policies / procedures affecting the oncology business.
◦ Work with national and local NHS organisations to proactively inform
horizon scanning bodies regarding timelines for licences / extensions and
for our pipeline products.
◦ Proactively inform Private Medical Insurers of new data and licences to
attain reimbursement for our oncology products and keep PMIs up-to-date with
date with pipeline developments.
