The Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Unit at the University of Birmingham has three posts available for Biostatisticians at all levels. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest of the nine National Cancer Research Institute Accredited Trials Units in the UK.
The Unit has an extensive portfolio of phase III clinical trials in a wide range of cancer disease sites including breast, urological, gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, lung, gynaecological, haematological, sarcoma and related supportive care. The Unit also has one of the most active early drug development teams in the country running phase I and II trials with particular expertise in gene therapy and immunotherapy. Many trials include elements of translational research such as genomic and proteomic sub-studies. The Unit collaborates with scientists from the Institute for Cancer Studies, clinicians from the adjacent Queen Elizabeth Hospital and researchers from other Departments within the University of Birmingham, as well as clinicians, scientists and researchers across the UK. In addition the Unit is actively involved in researching methodology related to clinical trials and associated translational research.
