AHL Research is primarily responsible for the development and
maintenance of our in-house managed futures quantitative trading system
in which over US$12B is currently invested. The department undertakes a
diverse range of activities including model-based prediction, portfolio
construction, risk management and trade execution analysis. The team has
strong links with other departments within the company and works on
projects including the development of multi-strategy products and
performance analysis of external and internal investment funds. 

 

We are inviting applications from exceptional individuals with practical
quantitative expertise in market microstructure modelling and electronic
trading for a permanent position in the London based AHL Research
department.

 

RESEARCH ANALYST [Ref: 872]

 

Responsibilities

 

*	Undertake quantitative research as required into all aspects of
AHL's model based trading
*	Develop analytic methods to process high frequency market data
and statistical models to describe the main modes of empirical behaviour
*	Assist with monitoring electronic trading performance across
AHL's portfolio 
*	Write software programs to produce reports, analytics,
back-tests or conduct analysis relevant to the overall goals of AHL's
business
*	Write research reports summarising the results of the work
undertaken
*	Assist other departments with quantitative analysis, where
required

 

 

Requirements

 

*	Post-graduate qualification in a scientific/financial discipline
*	Excellent computer skills (Windows & Unix), databases/SQL,
S-Plus, manipulating and processing large data sets
*	Ability to develop new ideas and undertake independent
quantitative research without micro-management
*	Practical experience of examining/modelling high frequency
market microstructure data and electronic trading
*	Knowledge of futures and forward markets, types of order
placement, market order book structure, order placement strategies
*	Effective communication skills, including presenting results and
writing technical reports
*	Excellent attention to detail 
*	Good time management skills in order to organise and prioritise
several projects and activities at the same time
