Minimum Requirements:
• You will be currently completing a statistics MSc or PhD degree
and have the ability to apply statistical knowledge and logical thinking
to practical situations
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team
• Ability to make well thought-out and efficient decisions based on
pertinent facts.
In addition, experience of SAS would be an advantage (SAS training as well
as training in advanced statistics will be offered).

Our Biomedical Data Sciences division is the largest within the
pharmaceutical industry, and includes statistics groups covering non-
clinical areas, clinical drug development in a wide range of therapeutic
areas and a methodological research team.
Exciting opportunities have now arisen in the UK Clinical Pharmacology,
Clinical and Non-Clinical areas for new and recently qualified
Statisticians. Working closely with clinical or scientific colleagues,
you will:
• Apply your statistical knowledge in the design and analysis of
studies to discover and demonstrate the effectiveness, safety and quality
of new medicines
• Prepare and conduct analyses and reports for internal and
regulatory purposes, as well as contributing to external presentations and
papers for publication
• Be part of a team of more experienced statisticians, with whom you
will rapidly develop your statistical knowledge and expertise
• Have opportunities to work within the broader therapeutic teams,
which focus on drug development strategy, alongside data managers,
clinical scientists, marketing professionals and epidemiologists, or to
work within programme matrix teams in early discovery, alongside
biologists and chemists
• Have opportunities to work in partnership with scientists working
at the cutting edge of technology, providing statistical insight which
creates greater understanding and improved data-driven decision making.
