Trent Research & Development Support Unit (RDSU) - Division of Primary Care
Medical Statistician (Fixed-term, full or part-time)
Required to (i) provide statistical support and advice to NHS researchers through advice and support clinics, (ii) to participate in the training programmes provided by RDSU staff, (iii) to collaborate with researchers in the design and analysis of health services research projects, and (iv) to contribute expertise in the extraction of healthcare data for research.
Candidates should possess a Higher degree in medical, applied or social statistics.
Familiarity with a range of statistical software e.g. SPSS, Stata is essential, together with practical experience in study design and analysis in the context of medical statistics/epidemiology and a willingness to travel within the East Midlands. Experience of healthcare data extraction and manipulation is desirable.
Salary will be within the range £21,467 - £30,606 per annum (pro rata for part-time), depending on qualifications and experience (salary can progress to £34,448 per annum (pro rata), subject to performance) - (£23,457 maximum without PhD). This is a full-time post, however, applications are invited from candidates wishing to work part-time (between 22½ and 30 hours per week).
