Located in the School of Medicine at the University of Southampton, the
Wessex Institute for Health Research and Development (WIHRD) is a leading
centre for health technology assessment in the UK. It is home to the
Southampton Health Technology Assessments Centre (SHTAC), the National Co-
ordinating Centre for Health Technology Assessment (NCCHTA), as well as a
number of independent research projects. We are expanding our research
teams and are looking to recruit to a number of Research Fellow posts.
You will plan, deliver and provide statistical support for health related
research developing independent and original ‘research on research‘
specifically on the portfolio of over 100 clinical trials commissioned by
the NCCHTA. You will develop an academic role , publishing in high quality
journals, contributing to existing research projects and bids for
research grants. The successful applicant will liaise closely with medical
and social statisticians across the university. and play a leading role in
the statistical analysis of clinical trials and economic modelling.
The appointment will be for 2 years in the first instance with excellent
