The School of Medicine at the University of Sheffield offers two statistical MSc courses:
STATISTICAL GENETICS MSc (4 MRC studentships of £12,300 + fees for 2007/2008)
Statistical genetics involves the development of models and methods for the analysis
and interpretation of genetic data. The accumulation of new genetic resources
presents new opportunities to construct statistical models of biological phenomena
for the purpose of supporting hypothesis-driven biology.
The course is aimed at students with a first degree in maths/stats

GENETIC EPIDEMIOLOGY MSc (3 Cancer Research UK bursaries of £5000
+ fees for 2007/2008)
This course provides a thorough training in genetic epidemiology, developing both
the theoretical basis and the methodology for the study of the genetics of complex
diseases in man.
The course is aimed at students from Biology/Genetics/Maths/Stats/Computing
