JOB: Chair/Reader in Statistics, Mathematical Sciences Department,
University of Bath, Bath, UK.

Applications are invited for the above post. Candidates should have a
proven research record in Statistics and will be expected to provide
research leadership. Applications from internationally excellent
candidates in any area of Statistics are welcome. The Department of
Mathematical Sciences at Bath is one of the most successful UK
Mathematics Departments with RAE grades of 5* in Applied Mathematics, 5
in Pure Mathematics and 5 in Statistics. The Department has an extensive
set of BSc and MMath undergraduate courses, two MSc programmes and
attracts large numbers of able students.
Current research areas in Statistics include: Environmental statistics
and statistical ecology, Medical statistics and epidemiology, Image
analysis, Functional data analysis, Bayesian inference, MCMC methodology
and stochastic optimisation and Multivariate analysis. In Probability:
Brownian motion, Large deviations, Levy processes, Mathematical finance,
