Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will:
Assist in developing and maintaining statistical models used for pricing
and assessing profitability of general insurance business. To provide other
specialist analysis used for pricing.
Be responsible for building statistical models to assist in monitoring the
competitiveness of GI products and predicting customer behaviour at renewal
and new business.
Provide statistical modelling support to General Insurance Actuarial and
the wider business as required.
Help to develop statistical modelling techniques and contribute to the
continual improvement of performance.
Perform analysis to contribute to actuarial advice on pricing of general
insurance business.
Become an expert "knowledge champion" in relation to an aspect of general
insurance business.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Highly numerate - degree in maths or an economics based subject.
A collaborative team member.
Able to concentrate on detail.
Enthusiastic to learn new skills and contribute to improvements in practice.
Able to work to challenging timescales.
Competent in Excel.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience
A good understanding of the theory and practice of statistical techniques.
A post-graduate qualification in statistics or a related discipline.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Access.
Experience of using SAS or other statistical software.
