The Institute of Cancer Research is at the forefront of international cancer research and, with the Royal Marsden NHS Trust, forms the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe. The Section of Cancer Genetics has an international reputation for its work on understanding inherited susceptibility to a number of tumours. The Cancer Genetic Epidemiology group is seeking an Epidemiologist/Statistician with relevant experience/knowledge in genetic epidemiology or statistics.
The post offers the opportunity to contribute to and gain experience in genetic epidemiological studies into the causes of cancer in a friendly and stimulating environment. The successful candidate will contribute to sample collection, and statistical analysis on cancer related projects. This may involve co-ordinating the work of collecting lifestyle information, blood samples, data management and analysis. The post also involves genetic statistical analysis on data generated by various projects in collaboration with other groups in the Section. Work will focus on identifying genetic susceptibility genes predisposing to cancer and gene-gene and gene-environment interactions in the development of cancer.
Applicants should have an MSc or other higher degree in epidemiology, statistics or related disciplines.
The post will be for 3 years with a starting salary from £25,500 to £32,450 per annum inclusive, depending on skills and experience.

The Cancer Genetic Epidemiology group is seeking applicants with relevant experience in genetic epidemiology and statistical genetics.
The post offers the opportunity to contribute to and gain experience in genetic epidemiological studies into the causes of cancer in a friendly and stimulating environment. The work involves genetic data analysis, collaborations with other members in the Section/Institute on cancer genetic epidemiology related research. These include candidate gene and genome-wide association studies to identify susceptibility genes predisposing to cancer, and studies on gene-gene and gene-environment interactions. Addressing methodological issues in genetic epidemiology and statistical genetics is one of the aspects of the post.
Applicants should have an MSc or Ph.D. degree in genetic epidemiology/statistical genetics or statistics/epidemiology/bioinformatics with strong analytical skills and experience of using a variety of software for data analysis.
