Applications are invited for a full-time, continuing (tenured), academic
position at the level of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the areas of
Mathematics and/or Statistics.
The Department may make two appointments.

Position Overview
The Department maintains strong research and teaching links across the
whole University, especially with the Colleges of Commerce, Engineering
and Science, and internationally. The appointee(s) will be expected to
contribute to these links and to teach in the Mathematics and/or
Statistics programme at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is a strong and
forward-looking department dedicated to excellence in research and

Preference will be given to candidates whose research profile enhances
existing strengths of the present Department. The current range of

As a Lecturer, you will need a PhD, demonstrated ability and commitment
to research, and also have a commitment to teaching.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will be well established as a researcher and
teacher. You will need a PhD, and a record of publishing in
internationally respected journals. You will also need to demonstrate a
track record of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels,
and an ability to attract and supervise postgraduate students is also
expected.
Successful candidates will be encouraged to develop a strong
externally-funded research programme, and will be expected to
collaborate with other academics in the Department’s teaching and research.
