SPATIAL DATA QUALITY AND STATISTICS
Assistant Professor (tenure-track: € 2252.- to € 4140.- per month)
The International Institute for Geo-information Science and Earth Observation, seeks applicants for a position at the Assistant Professor level in spatial data quality and statistics, to begin as soon as possible. The focus of this position is on quantification of uncertainties in spatial data, in particular data obtained by means of airborne and space borne sensors. Both the data themselves are important, as well as their use. Modern statistical methods can play an important role in quantifying and using data quality issues.
Your main task will be to give lectures on a wide variety of subjects related to the quality of spatial data. These include spatial data quality, statistics, global navigation satellite systems and direct geo-referencing. In addition, you will do consulting activities on these issues. Your research will focus on data mining and spatial data quality. You are able to discuss statistical problems and questions with other researchers and to find solutions. Teaching of students takes place at various educational levels. You further contribute to the development of educational modules and new educational products (such as distance learning packages). You may share responsibility in the management of the department. You participate actively in national and international professional societies.
