SARs introductory workshop: focus on the Small Area Microdata

This workshop will provide information on the various SARs data files that
are available from the 2001 Census. There will be a particular focus on the
Small Area Microdata (SAM) which contains local authority level identifiers
for sampled individuals, thus providing better geographical referencing than
other licensed SAR data. The afternoon session will include a demonstration
on mapping census data and a practical and there will be plenty of
opportunity for questions and discussion.

Introduction to government microdata: focus on ethnicity

This is an introductory workshop conducted jointly by the Economic and
Social Data Service (Government service)and Samples of Anonymised Records
Support team. The workshop will provide a general introduction to the
microdata which are available for use by secondary analysts and the services
that provide support for researchers. The afternoon will provide the
opportunity to focus on data on ethnicity and users will undertake a
hands-on session.

SARs User Meeting

This meeting will include presentations on how the various 2001
SARs/CAMs/SAM files are being used. It will also include an opportunity to
discuss the needs for microdata files from the 2011 Census and to hear from
the Census Offices about their plans for microdata.

British Crime Survey user meeting
