ANNOUCEMENT
Workshop on
"Image Analysis and Inverse Problems"
December 11-13, 2006
EURANDOM, Eindhoven, The Netherlands
----
This workshop at EURANDOM will be devoted to various aspects of image analysis and inverse problems. It is intended to bring people together from various areas of image analysis and inverse problems who use different approaches to common problems. The particular topics to be discussed will include techniques of image segmentation, regularization methods based on minimization of total variation and other norms of the signal and derivatives, locally adaptive methods, Gaussian approximation of spatial models, Gaussian mixture models, texture modelling using Markov random fields, scale-space techniques in the area of medical imaging, wavelet and spline methods, methods for linear and non-linear inverse problems, diffusion methods, template based pattern identification, Bayesian techniques using MCMC, point and object processes. One of the main problems in the area is the development of algorithms which are either exact or approximate and are able to handle the large amount of data involved in a reasonable time.
Invited SPEAKERS
Bernard Burgeth (Saarbruecken), Lutz Duembgen (Bern), Remco Duits (Eindhoven), Michael Felsberg (Linköping), Michal Haindl (Prague), Bart Janssen (Eindhoven), Arne Kovac (Bristol), Axel Munk (Goettingen), Patrick Perez (Irisa/Inria, Rennes), Havard Rue (Trondheim), Tomasz Schreiber (Torun), Vladimir Spokoiny (Berlin), Joachim Weickert (Saarland University), Roland Wilson (Warwick), Gerhard Winkler (Munich)
