We seek a highly motivated researcher, principally to the drive the statistical computing and decision support interface work of an innovative public health simulation project supported by the Medical Research Council (MRC), and also to provide statistical support to a feasibility study for AstraZenca to explore the value of the Salford 'population bio-health data laboratory' in drug response epidemiology.
The role will involve translation of epidemiological and economic components of the IMPACT coronary heart disease model into an accessible, user friendly and statistically robust decision support system for health policy makers.
The statistical computing work will be carried out using open-source software, such as R, where possible, and will be delivered as a set of web-services. The decision-support interface to the statistical web-services will be via web-browsers, using open-standards, open-source platforms and development tools.
The post-holder will join the Manchester hub of the Northwest Institute for Bio-Health Informatics (NIBHI, www.nibhi.org.uk <http://www.nibhi.org.uk/> ), working closely with researchers at the Universities of Manchester and Liverpool, and collaborating with an international reference group.
Interviews will be held on the afternoon of Thursday 28th September
