Greetings,
I am an applied statistician/econometrician working in industry. I've
been exploring opportunities to update my knowledge in certain key areas
where I found my formal graduate school training lacking or otherwise
quite behind the times. I'm particularly interested in computational
statistics, MCMC methods, data mining, innovations in linear modeling,
and other areas where the intersection of large data sets and more
powerful computers have made inroads.
I was hoping other list members might suggest ways that I could further
my knowledge in a more formal setting. I'm in the Boston area and,
despite a wealth of local universities, none seem to offer any sort of
part-time graduate program in statistics or even non-degree programs
that might accommodate anything but full-time students (here I am
thinking primarily of Masters programs). That said, there may be other
universities in other parts of the U.S. which offer these options. I am
also exploring other, less structured, approaches, such as
online/distance learning, etc.
I would certainly appreciate any ideas or suggestions that other AllStat
subscribers might offer.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Mark
