SUMMARY OF ROLE:  Premier international pharmaceutical company requires a 
Biomarker Biostatistician who will be responsible for the statistical 
analysis and reporting of various exploratory clinical and non-clinical 
projects based on genomic, proteomic and metabonomic data.  This role is 
based in Switzerland, near the borders of both France and Germany.  

CLIENT INFORMATION:  Our client is one of the crème de la crème of the 
pharmaceutical industry, operating in 140 countries worldwide and offering 
a wide range of pharmaceutical products and services within the fields of 
primary care, oncology, transplantation, ophthalmics and mature products.  
In its consumer health division, it deals primarily with OTC drugs, animal 
health, medical nutrition, infants and babies.  In 2003, its group sales 
increased by 19%.  It is one of the world's top five pharmaceutical 
providers.  

JOB ROLE:   In collaboration with research and development teams, the 
Biomarker Biostatistician will contribute to the design of experiments and 
clinical exploration. In addition he/she will be responsible to establish 
an appropriate analysis strategy and will contribute to the development 
and implementation of exploratory statistical methodologies to support the 
identification of clinically relevant biomarker and their development 
toward diagnostic application.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
§	PhD in Biostatistics with at least three years of post-doctoral or 
equivalent work experience. 
§	A strong background in the statistical analysis of genomic and 
proteomic data, and familiar with multivariate data analyses.
§	3-5 years relevant experience in clinical research/epidemiology. 
§	Familiar with statistical packages applied to genomic data, such 
as the BioConductor packages, and with programming in object-oriented 
languages. 
§	Willing to take responsibility and accountability. 
§	Interest in the development of innovative approaches in 
biostatistics. 
§	Able to provide clear guidance and documentation for projects and 
enjoy team work. 
§	Fluent in English (written and spoken)
