JOB TITLE:   SENIOR SAS PROGRAMMER, Contract role for premier Pharma based 
in Switzerland - Ref FW 10969

LOCATION / AREA: Europe / Switzerland / French-Swiss border region / 
German-Swiss border region / Basel

SUMMARY OF ROLE:  One of the world's top 5 pharmaceutical companies 
requires an experienced Senior SAS Programmer who will coordinate 
programming activities for several project indications including 
publication and regulatory submission activities.  This is a contract 
position for six months at our client's headquarters in Switzerland - near 
the borders of both France and Germany

CLIENT INFORMATION:  Our client, one of the world's top five 
pharmaceutical providers, is one of the crème de la crème of the 
pharmaceutical industry, and known as a leading name in the discovery, 
development and marketing of innovative pharmaceutical products which cure 
diseases, ease suffering and enhance the quality of life.  Operating in 
140 countries worldwide, they offer a wide range of pharmaceutical 
products and services within the fields of primary care, oncology, 
transplantation, ophthalmics and mature products; with key values which

enabling them to maintain the highest performance standards.

JOB ROLE:   The Senior SAS Programmer's principal responsibilities include:
§	Coordinating programming activities for several project 
indications including publication and regulatory submission activities
§	Developing programming specifications for analysis datasets, 
pooled datasets and listings in consultation with the statistician
§	Programming according to specifications, analysis datasets, pooled 
datasets, listings, tables and figures for phase I-IV clinical trials and 
for SCS and SCE with high quality and within milestones
§	Supporting quality control and quality audit of deliverables
§	Developing and complying with project/study programming standards 
and specifications following internal guidelines
§	Providing input into study protocol, CRF and data structures 
tables, listings and figures

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE:
§	At least 4 years experience as an SAS programmer supporting 
clinical trials
§	Experience using SAS in the analysis and the reporting of 
pharmaceutical data
§	Advanced working knowledge and expertise with SAS (including SAS 
macro language)
§	Ability to lead and coordinate programming work across several 
studies
§	Working knowledge of database design/structures
§	Very good understanding of global clinical trial practices, 
procedures and methodologies.
§	Good understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g. GCP, ICH)
§	Fluent English (oral and written)
§	Experience in Oncology therapeutic area is desirable
§	Good understanding of statistical methodologies
§	Strong analytical skills and the ability to think laterally
§	Experience with intercultural items
§	Good team player
