Hi all
I'd like some advice on interpreting a hierarchical multiple regression
please.
I am looking at the effects of Personality and Conflict on a couple's
Relationship Satisfaction.
Personality and Conflict are both multidimensional variables.
If one puts Personality in first and then Conflict, the regression reveals
that Personality accounts for 20% of the variance and Conflict accounts for
a further 40% of the variance.
However, if one puts Conflict in first and then Personality, Conflict
accounts for 56% and Personality accounts for 3%.
This gives me two different answers about the unique contributions of
Personality and Conflict to Relationship Satisfaction. Is there a technique
for discovering the unique contribution of each variable?
Many thanks
Max
