DIVISION OF EPIDEMIOLOGY, PUBLIC HEALTH & PRIMARY CARE
We are pleased to be able to offer two taught Masters courses beginning o n
2 October 2006 and seek highly motivated applicants with a degree in a
relevant discipline.
MSc IN MODERN EPIDEMIOLOGY
Three Medical Research Council studentships are available. The course is
organised by the Departments of Epidemiology & Public Health and Infe
ctious
Disease Epidemiology, and draws upon the unique and internationally
respected epidemiological expertise housed in St Mary’s Campus at Imper ial
College Faculty of Medicine. The course aims to provide students with a
thorough understanding of modern epidemiological and biostatistical
methods, with a particular focus on environmental, genetic and spatial
epidemiology; the epidemiology, evolution and control of infectious
disease; biostatistical methods in epidemiology; and the mathematical
modeling of disease transmission.

MASTERS IN PUBLIC HEALTH
The Division of Epidemiology, Public Health and Primary Care at Imperial
College offers a one year Masters of Public Health Course in collaboratio n
with Imperial College’s Tanaka Business School. The programme provides
a
comprehensive grounding in public health for students intending to practi
se
in public health or related fields and a good preparation for students
wishing to take the MFPH Part A examination. Imperial College is one the
world’s leading research universities and the Masters of Public Health
Course also offers an excellent grounding in public health research metho
ds
for those considering undertaking a PhD in a public health or health
services research related field.
