We seek a self-motivated individual with a strong working knowledge of
statistics and experience of genetic association studies, to undertake a
project involving the fine mapping and identification of genes
contributing to inflammatory bowel disease. The post-holder should have
a background in statistical genetics with a strong understanding of
genetic association studies. Familiarity with computer programs designed
for the analysis of genotyping data will be an advantage. The person
appointed will assume day to day responsibility for all aspects of the
project as well as interacting with other members of the department and
contributing to other ongoing projects on the genetics of IBD. The post
is for 2 years initially and is on the AR1A scale. A PhD in a relevant
scientific discipline would be an advantage.
