Working in the Modelling Science and Statistics Workgroup within the Centre
for Epidemiology and Risk Analysis, you will be proactive in identifying and
taking forward new opportunities for statistical input, to add value to
projects at all stages from planning to final analyses. This will also
include statistical training of scientists from other disciplines. There
will be opportunities to undertake development in identified key areas such
as bioinformatics or spatial statistics.
You will have a degree in a mathematical subject with a significant
statistical component. You will be an innovative and self motivated team
player and have excellent communication skills - particularly to communicate
statistics to scientists and policymakers. A post graduate qualification in
statistics or an interest in obtaining one and previous use of statistical
software packages such as SAS, SPSS, STATA, R or Minitab would be an
advantage.
The post is in Pay Band D £22,300 - £32,100 per annum. The Civil Service
