Biostatisticians (Research Officer / Research Assistant)
Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics Unit (CEBU)
& Centre for Adolescent Health,
Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI), Melbourne

We are seeking to fill 2-3 posts for biostatisticians. A range of
roles is required, including core research support activities, such
as teaching of short courses, provision of research design advice and
conducting data analysis, within the Clinical Epidemiology and
Biostatistics Unit, and a more focused position providing direct
support to ongoing large epidemiological studies within the Centre
for Adolescent Health. The positions are framed for up to three
appointees, comprising 1.5 experienced biostatisticians, and 0.5 of a
junior position, but the precise mix of appointments will depend on
the applications received. At the more senior level, you will be
responsible for expert biostatistical advice and analysis, teaching
of basic statistical methods and contributing independently to the
conduct of high-quality research. At the more junior level you will
provide support in data processing, statistical analysis, database
management, and related report writing and communication for a range
of research projects. You will need to be able to demonstrate
appropriate training and technical skills in statistics, strong
motivation for working in health research, and excellent communication skills.

The Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) is a world class
child health research institute discovering ways to prevent and treat
conditions that affect babies, children and adolescents, encompassing
laboratory, clinical and public health approaches to research. Our
research is organised in themes that reflect the key areas in which
we strive to achieve these objectives. The themes bring together the
best skills and knowledge in cross-disciplinary teams working
collaboratively to solve broader children's health problems. The
Institute is affiliated with the University of Melbourne, and is
based at the Royal Children's Hospital in Parkville, Melbourne.

For full details of the positions available follow the Employment
link at www.mcri.edu.au. Applications close 26 June.
