The Winton Professorship of the Public Understanding of Risk
Statistical Laboratory, Cambridge University
Applications are invited for this new Professorship, which has been
endowed in perpetuity following a generous donation to Cambridge
University. The appointee will mount or continue a programme in some
aspect of the public understanding of risk, and will contribute where
appropriate to the research and teaching programmes of the Statistical
Laboratory of the University.
Preference will be given to candidates active in theoretical/applied
aspects of probability and statistics.

The activity promoted by the new Professor will contribute to an enhanced
programme in statistics and risk to be funded in part by a Science &
Innovation Award of 2.3M pounds from the EPSRC.
