Senior Research Associate
(Salary scale 9: £36,546 - £42,367)

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Research Associate to join the Diabetes
Genetics group at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, working with
Prof. Mark McCarthy. The focus of Prof. McCarthy’s group lies in the
application of state of the art analytical tools to aid identification of
diabetes susceptibility genes within very large genotype data sets
(including genome-wide data from the Wellcome Trust Case Control

The successful candidate will be appointed as part of the NIH-funded
chromosome 1q consortium, directed by Prof. McCarthy, and will contribute to
international efforts to map diabetes susceptibility genes within this
region of linkage. You will have overall responsibility for the statistical
analysis of this large dataset, including integration with available
genome-wide association data. We are looking for someone with a strong
record of academic achievement including a relevant postgraduate degree.
Experience in the management and analysis of large genetic datasets is
essential.
