Project title: Explaining variation in mortality and other outcomes
between healthcare providers
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with at least an MSc in
epidemiology or statistics, looking to develop their career as a health
services researcher. The postholder will work on the analysis of health
service and other data and the development of measures of quality in
healthcare provision. S/he will also be expected to contribute to
publications, meetings and seminars.
The postholder will work in a small team supervised by Dr Paul Aylin,
Clinical Senior Lecturer in Epidemiology and Public Health. The unit is
funded by Dr Foster Ltd, a leading independent organisation and one of
Britain's fastest-growing private companies, which collects and analyses
information on the availability and quality of health services in the UK.
The research team is based in premises on Westbourne Grove, London W2.
The successful candidate will have an MSc, preferably a PhD, appropriate
research experience, and excellent computing and statistical skills.
Experience in using SAS is preferable.
The appointment is full-time until 31 December 06 in the first instance,
starting as soon as possible. Appointment to the particular grade will
