Alcohol and the Family Conference
Everything you ever wanted to know about how to work with families where
parents misuse alcohol
Description:
Up to 1.3 million children are affected by parental alcohol misuse. This
represents a huge challenge to professionals working in children and family
services and those in alcohol support services. This conference, which takes
place in London on the 13 October, will provide professionals with the tools
to meet this challenge.
At the end of the conference delegates should have a clearer understanding
of:
* the key issues faced by professionals in working with parental
alcohol misuse
* how to support children and families affected by parental alcohol
misuse, with workshops delivering profession-specific information, guidance
and
training resources
* how to work together to improve the lives of children and families
* toolkits on how to support children and develop a service for
affected children and families will be launched, along with training and
resources on how to work with problem drinking parents.
