We have had only one case. The student agreed to remove her veil when we
offered her the facility to sit her exams in a small room with special
case students.

Subject: Religious Dress - teaching and exams
Dear all,
I'm interested in how colleagues at other institutions deal with
religious dress issues, and in particular with full-face veils in
relation to teaching and examinations. Queries have been raised here as
to the possibility of impersonation in exams if candidates wear a
full-face veil.
Do you have a policy on this? If so, is it simply that wearing a
full-face veil in exams is not permitted? Are there also similar issues
in teaching?
I know this has been in the news a lot recently, which has probably
stirred the question in our institution.
Thanks for any opinion and thoughts.
Derek.
