Dear Colleagues,
I have been looking at the changes that the above will reap as I am
sure you all have!
As the Statutory Maternity leave and pay period are being increased
under this Act, at Derby we are considering whether to change our
Occupational Maternity pay period upwards from 18 weeks (6 weeks full
pay and 12 weeks half pay) and wondered what other institutions are
doing / considering.
I would be grateful if you could share with me what your current
Occupational Maternity pay provision is and whether you will be
reviewing this upwards?
Also the Act is being used to bring in the proposed additional
statutory bank holiday to make the full entitlement (eventually) to 28
days statutory leave.
In relation to Bank holiday provision: how does your institution apply
the pro rata principle for part time workers? ie do you give all
part-timers pro rata entitlement to time off in lieu of bank holidays
according to the number of hours they work or do your part time
employees get the bank holidays which fall in their working pattern?
Many thanks in anticipation of your replies.
