Hi folks,
First, I wanted to say that the ongoing discussions on this list are always
interesting and appreciated from overseas!
On a new subject but related to ongoing topics and issues discussed on this
list, the City of Toronto is currently rolling out consultation related to
developing "a coordinated street furniture program".
On the "accessibility" front, I would like to contribute by rounding up some
examples of best practice, that I can formally submit as part of the
process.....ideas, concepts, recommendations from an accessibility
perspective that people working on this can see works in practice. I would
consolidate any information I can round up.....whether its a good example of
an accessible street bench, away from home washrooms, signage, paper box
systems, lighting standards.....whatever folks think has worked well.
Additionally, any general comments and experiences that may be transferable
to our context would also be appreciated. Point me in the direction of folks
to contact if that is easier.
If people want to send any photos or documents directly to me, please email
to [log in to unmask] - as I dont want to bog down the list and your
inboxes. If there are any specific guidance documents, please let me know as
well, although I am familiar with most of the existing documents that have
been published in the UK......any obscure or new ones, let me know!
Thanks for all your insights in advance!
shane
