I agree with you Justine the UV lighting is inefective and only makes it
more difficult for everyone. I don't know of any studies on the subject but
sometimes things are done because the authorities have to be seen doing
something about it - even if it doesn't work. Many people can justify their
job because they are seen to be doing things that don't work. That is why
you will probably not find a study to prove that UV lighting is ineffective.
Just thank the heavens that they haven't used it as an excuse to close the
public toilet like they seem to be doing in so many other places.
