Jessica,
If you want a different perspective on access consultancy / auditing from a
construction based background I would be pleased to meet up for an afternoon
etc. I am based in Norwich.
I am a Chartered Building Surveyor and registered Access Consultant with the
National Register of Access Consultants. I also sit on the assessment panel
for new applicants wishing to join the register as Auditor or Consultant
members.
I feel that meeting up would have mutual benefits given that I would benefit
from your OT experience to expand my knowledge of 'user needs' and increase
my understanding of certain disabilities . My contact details are below. I
look forward to perhaps hearing from you.
Regards,
Ross

Hi Jessica
I'm also an OT, completing the MSc at Salford ('only' the thesis to go!)
and work in Norfolk. I work for Norfolk Learning Difficulties Service, but
have managed to develop a specialist OT Role in Inclusive Design. Within my
role i advise on housing for people with learning difficulties, working in
partnership with Housing Associations, this includes new build projects and
adapting complete properties purchased on the open market. I would be happy
for you to spend some time with me, we could talk about the MSc, access
consutancy & OT.....
