Hi all thought some people may be interested in these four guidance booklets
that have been produced as an outcome of Project ABECAS (Accessible Built
Environment Careers for all Students), funded by HEFCE through the National
Disability Team (NDT) and the University of Bolton.
The four guides are aimed at removing barriers to disabled students becoming
professionally qualified in the built environment professions. The first is
a source of information for potential and current students. The second is
for higher education institutions, and includes examples of reasonable
adjustments that are considered in anticipation of disabled students being
recruited. The third guide is for professional bodies who need to consider
the needs of disabled candidates through to Chartership, and the fourth is
for employers who provide graduate training programmes.
