Hi Rob
a couple of comments which may be of use
1. always make sure there are safe level turning spaces at the ends of
the paths, we had one case of a person getting trapped when the path
became too narrow and he could not turn back.
2. have a warning notice that indoor and indoor/outdoor scooters are not
suitable for use on steep slopes and rough paths and that the venue does
not accept liability for their use.
3. have a good service/maintenance schedule for the vehicles. Flat lyres
can cause scooters to tip, and people do their best to wreck any
equipment especially controls, lights and brakes. Relying on the
manufacturer/supplier for maintenance is not really worthwhile as they
will only come to your site every so often, inspections and servicing
need to be daily and following use so there is a need to train someone
responsible on site and on each shift.
4. have a good maintenance schedule for your paths etc. It is always
surprising how quickly water can cause rutting of paths causing spills.
5. always give 5 to 10 minutes training to any new visitor who is having
the vehicle, experience has shown that car drivers tend to be over
confident and most likely to get into trouble.
Hope this helps
Regards
Dave Croft
