Just a suggestion, but rather than having the whole name embossed, why not
have an easily recognisable logo embossed.
This would mean that all the badges felt similar and it would also reduce
the size of them.
If the name was to be embossed a visually impaired person might not be able
to understand the spelling of "regular" letters by touch so it might not
help with individual identification of the badge wearer anyway.
If the aim is to identify members of staff or a team it could possibly work
with just a logo.
