Hi Madeleine
Here in Pembrokeshire we improve/add flush kerb provision whenever
footways/highways are maintained or altered. I also have a small budget of
£50,000 p/a specifically for new flush kerb provision at uncontrolled
crossing points for public/community use (not personal provision for an
individual). Requests for flush kerb improvements from the general public
and highways inspectors are inspected by me and if appropriate the facility
is provided.
regards
Alan Hunt

Subject: Dropped Kerbs
Please can colleagues advise what steps/policies Highway Authorities in your
areas are undertaking in respect of meeting the demand for crossing points
with dropped kerbs from members of the public? We cannot meet the current
demand and are seeking clarification on the implications of the new
Disability Equality Duty.
Any comments gratefully received.
Madeleine
