Dear All
Apart from the obvious of not fitting them at all, does anyone know of any laid down guidance on the width of turnstiles. The ones in question are to toilets on a station for which there is a charge to use (hence the turnstiles). There is a sidegate and a bell to summon assistance if you cant get through the turnstile but is there any where that someone has recommended a minimum width to the gap. The gates in question only have a width of 385mm which seems particularly small.Ive checked Part M, BS8300,SRA Code of Practice, DfT Inclusive Mobility but cant see anything which refers to turnstiles in particular. Good practice for a person without any mobility aids etc is 700mm (DfT Inclusive Mobility). It is I believe unreasonable to make gates this wide but does anyone know of anywhere that it is written down what a minimum width should be for turnstiles?
Kind Regards
Justin Ryan
