We do not provide such spaces in Pembrokeshire. It seems to be fraught with
problems. Some streets have a large number of residents who hold Blue Badges
and to provide spaces for them all would result in all of the available 'on
street' parking being reserved, to the detriment of other road users. So
unfortunately we don't provide this service for any resident so as not to
set a precedent.
If anyone has examples of this sort of system working in practice, I would
be very grateful to hear from them.

Subject: Disabled Parking
Hi. Sorry to rays this one yet again , but it is a different query. One of
our local councils has a policy of marking disabled parking spaces outside
houses where a resident has a Blue Badge, if they are requested to do so.
In one area local residents have presented a petition asking for the bay to
be removed and the council is minded to meet the request. I would have
thought that the DED (with reference to treating a disabled person more
favourably) would cover this situation.
Can anyone tell me if they have come across anything similar and what the
policy of their local council is?
Many thanks.
