Hi John
Apparently it is the momentum of the trolley when it reaches the top or
bottom that breaks the grip of the magnet. Must admit I wouldn't mind
seeing this for myself. A great idea for providing access between floors
for large numbers of people with trolleys, but not an inclusive design
solution unfortunately.

Interesting, should have thought about that possibility myself. I wonder

I was speakintg to one of the girls in the office here and she explained
that the trolleys have a magnetic device on the underneath that fixes them
in position while on the conveyor belt!!!
