Exhibitions Platform is a project dedicated to providing a global resource
for researchers, students, and practitioners involved in all aspects of
exhibition making.
The research network will be of interest to academics in a range of
disciplines including: design, architecture, art, museum studies, marketing,
artefact conservation, communication, media studies, material culture,
heritage management and interpretation, media and construction technology,
etc.
The aims of the research network are to:
1. Bring academics, independent researchers and practitioners from a
range of disciplines together to explore the condition of theoretical and
practical knowledge in the field of 'exhibition making' (exhibition
research, planning, organization, design, scripting, production, evaluation,
history and philosophy).
2. Plan in detail the requirements for an interactive digital
platform for the creation and dissemination of knowledge in the field of
exhibition making (Exhibitions Platform)
3. Provide a forum in which to discuss, test, develop and extend
knowledge of exhibition making.
4. Disseminate research in exhibition making to students, academics,
researchers and creative practitioners in the cultural and commercial
sectors.
5. Establish editorial and advisory boards and a peer review process
to facilitate the development and delivery of electronic and printed
publications associated with the Exhibitions Platform.
A launch event is being planned for later this year. If would like to
participate in the network please reply now with contact details and a brief
outline of your research interests to:
