Dear All,
Can I ask you to bring this to the attention of
suitable Final Year or
MA
students?
Applications are invited for a one-year full-time
University of
Sheffield
Incentive Award to the value of ca. £9,000 plus fees
for our one-year
Research-Track MA in Germanic Studies or for the first
year of PhD
study in
our Department. Applicants for the MA award should
have or be very
likely
to gain a First Class Honours degree in German or
Dutch. Applicants for
PhD
study should, in addition, have or be about to
complete an MA in German
or
Dutch. The successful candidate is expected, as a
condition of the
Sheffield award, to lodge an application in this
academic year's AHRC
postgraduate funding round, the deadline for which is
1 May 2006; the
Department will help and support that application.
The Incentive Award is tenable from 1 October 2006. It
is expected that
the
successful applicant will work in the main research
area of a member of
the
Department's academic staff. For more information on
the Department,
its
staff and their research interests, please go to:

Potential applicants are invited to contact Prof Henk
de Berg or Prof
Michael Perraudin very soon, and certainly before 24
March 2006:
