The University of Auckland, NZ is seeking outstanding candidates to fill
various permanent posts in the fields of geotechnical,
transportation and structural engineering within its very active
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Appointments may be at any level in the lecturer to professor range
depending on the candidates' ability and potential.

I draw your attention to the following section in the advertisement
given in the URL below:
Transportation Engineering: Expertise in two main areas is particularly
desirable
(i) pavement design with particular emphasis on the pavement structure,
surface treatments and their maintenance,
including rehabilitave techniques as well as pavement management
systems, asset management, highway geometrics, drainage and construction.
(ii) traffic engineering and planning for transport with emphasis on
operational management, including travel demand management,
intelligent transport system operations, as well as highway safety,
project evaluation, public transit and facility planning including
cyclists and pedestrians.

Laboratory facilities for transportation include an ITS (intelligent
transport systems) Visualisation Portal which is being connected to the
Auckland regional
traffic control centre, and a major skid resistance research programme.
Research is also being undertaken in asset management (road and rail),
vehicle safety (roundabouts and work zones) and transport network
modelling (buses and tolls).
